So, now what?
It’s January first and I’ve completed my goal of publishing at least one video every day for a year. It feels amazing because a little over a year ago, I couldn’t create a single short-form video.
Now that that goal is complete, what’s next?
I’m going to do it again. Not because I’m a masochist, but because I’m not done yet.
Based on accounts I’ve read, it takes two to three years to truly gain traction. While I’ve gained traction, I know I haven’t gotten the most out of this yet.
My YouTube presence became viable, passing 1 Million views.
This was the first time I consistently published on Instagram. TikTok wasn’t even a thought a little over a year ago, and now it’s my fastest-growing This is the group of people who can potentially see your ads. You help influence this by adjusting age, gender, location, detailed targeting (interests and behaviors), custom audiences, and more. More.
It would be a missed opportunity to cut back now. Video may be my post impactful format now, which is crazy. For the first 12 years of my business, the central engine that made it run was my blog. While it’s still important, video may drive more results for me going forward.
I’ve learned a lot of lessons this first year, and I know I can be more efficient and smarter about it. I spent so much time refining my process and figuring out an approach that worked for me related to planning, scripting, recording, and editing. I know I can do better and publish even more without working harder.
I’m planning the following for 2024:
1. Publish at least one short-form video per day once again. I will also look to publish additional short-form videos, where possible, that require less editing. I’ve learned that we can easily provide value with rougher edits.
2. Publish at least one longer video every week.
3. Go live at least once per month.
That’s the plan, at least, and I hope you’ll follow along for the next round.
What’s your video plan for 2024?
